Project Information
EXPLORING IN LIBERIA, WEST AFRICA:
Africa West Minerals Corp. has approximately 1960km² of land holdings in Liberia, West Africa. It has 100% interest in the Kanweaken and Gedabo exploration licenses, situated approximately 350km south east of Monrovia, the capital of Liberia, and 50km north of the port town of Harper. The licenses allow the exclusive right to explore for Gold, Diamonds, Iron Ore, base metals and any metal element, including precious or semi-precious stone(s).
UNDER-EXPLORED:
Exceptional potential for locating large deposits of gold, iron ore, and other minerals. Southeast Liberia has not received the mineral exploration activity of other areas in West Africa. These are still essentially untouched areas in terms of mineral exploration.
POTENTIAL:
In addition to the obvious comparison with known gold deposits in the Birimian, on a world wide basis, such Paleoproterozoic gold deposits constitute a very important class, contributing the bulk of the world gold supply.
GOVERNMENT:
With a stable government now in place and support from the European Economic Community and the US, the future is very bright for Liberia.
ARTISANAL MINING:
Preliminary investigations of the licenses have demonstrated significant gold is presently being extracted from several areas by artisanal miners. Iron formation was noted to be located nearby these workings.
THE ROAD AHEAD:
Prepare targets with existing gold soil anomalies for drill testing. Undertake aggressive and comprehensive investigation of license areas. First phase programs to focus on utilizing geochemical, geophysical and mapping methods to rapidly evaluate precious metal, base metal, and gemstone potential.
